Embarassing Myself
Okay, I added pictures of the two thorns on my side. I put up a progress bar on the left column, with a clickable picture. You have to scroll all the way down. Come on, someone join me with something that you have been procrastinating for a while.
Mix of Things
Hello there. I have been doing a mix of things over here lately. I have had so many things that I wanted to post about, but never got around to it. It seems like when my hubby works from home, everything gets thrown out of whack. I love when he works from home, and I want him to do so even more, so I just have to learn to continue on schedule when he's here, instead of just hanging out with him. lol The good thing about being thrown off schedule is that we attacked the decluttering of the garage. My dh decided it is better for him to workout in the garage instead of joining a gym for multiple reasons, (time commuting to and from gym, etc.) so we have been wanting to clear the garage out completely so that we have a lot of space to get some good exercise. We have two fairly large pieces of gym equipement in there. I am embarassed to say that I have a huge bucket of papers that I need to go through. Some of it has to be shredded and some of it has to be filed. I think I keep too much. I have bank statments from like 8 years ago. I am just going to purge the majority of it.
And then I have a garbage bag full of little things that need to be put in the proper place. The majority of it is like pieces of toys that need to be put in the proper bin or little odds and ends, like a weight from Britney's ankle weights from her therapy, etc. How all the those things ended up in the garage is beyond me. I'm thinking I should just work 15 minutes on each one a day. 15 minutes on the paper bucket and 15 minutes on the misc. bag. What do you think? If I'm really in the mood to embarass myself later, I will take pictures, so you can see the improvement. (should read, so I can motivate myself) lol.
Anyway, I will post later on today about the things I really wanted to post about.

Goal 4 Accomplished
On Friday while preparing for the Sabbath, I was able to work on our closet. The closet, thankfully, is a fairly decent size. It not only holds our clothes, but it houses my fabric stash, yarn stash, and cross stitching stash. ;0) I also have my sewing table and sewing machine set up in there. I don't want it to be too crowded that dh can't comfortably get in there to get his clothes.
I would like to organize dh's clothes a little better, so that he doesn't need to think ;0) when he needs to pull out his clothes for work. I have some little tags that I wanted to put on the hangers so that he knows what to where each day, and when was the last time he wore it. I am not that controlling of what he wears, it was actually his idea. ;0)

Preparation Day
Mark 15:42 And now when the even was come, because it was the preparation, that is, the day before the sabbath.
Today is my preparation day. I have plenty of things to do before the Sabbath starts, which for me is at 8:04. You can look yours up here.
sunset calendar
I do things like precook tomorrow's breakfast and lunch. I also like to make sure that the house is nice and clean. I iron our clothes for church tomorrow. It's as if we have an Important Guest coming over, which we do. It's nice to pretend that our Heavenly Father is coming for a visit. When we have company, we do things in a timely fashion, and this is no different. I will later make a list of things to make the Sabbath special; especially with the littles. I want them to look forward to the Sabbath. I want them to be sad when it ends.
There is a wonderful explantion of precooking our meals in this Bible story. The Lord provided the Israelites with some food. They were to collect it daily. On Friday they had to collect a double portion, so as not to be out collecting it on the Sabbath. If they collected a double portion on any other day, it would spoil, but yet on the Sabbath the manna was edible.
Exodus 16:14-30
14And when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a small round thing, as small as the hoar frost on the ground. 15And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the LORD hath given you to eat. 16This is the thing which the LORD hath commanded, Gather of it every man according to his eating, an omer for every man, according to the number of your persons; take ye every man for them which are in his tents. 17And the children of Israel did so, and gathered, some more, some less. 18And when they did mete it with an omer, he that gathered much had nothing over, and he that gathered little had no lack; they gathered every man according to his eating. 19And Moses said, Let no man leave of it till the morning. 20Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto Moses; but some of them left of it until the morning, and it bred worms, and stank: and Moses was wroth with them. 21And they gathered it every morning, every man according to his eating: and when the sun waxed hot, it melted. 22And it came to pass, that on the sixth day they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for one man: and all the rulers of the congregation came and told Moses. 23And he said unto them, This is that which the LORD hath said, To morrow is the rest of the holy sabbath unto the LORD: bake that which ye will bake to day, and seethe that ye will seethe; and that which remaineth over lay up for you to be kept until the morning.
24And they laid it up till the morning, as Moses bade: and it did not stink, neither was there any worm therein. 25And Moses said, Eat that to day; for to day is a sabbath unto the LORD: to day ye shall not find it in the field. 26Six days ye shall gather it; but on the seventh day, which is the sabbath, in it there shall be none.
27And it came to pass, that there went out some of the people on the seventh day for to gather, and they found none. 28And the LORD said unto Moses, How long refuse ye to keep my commandments and my laws? 29See, for that the LORD hath given you the sabbath, therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day. 30So the people rested on the seventh day.
So off I go to prepare for the Sabbath. If I get a chance, I will work on my closet, from my list of goals.

Goals 2 and 3 accomplished
I was able to work on our daily schedule as well as the chorepacks for the children. This is my organizational wall (I need a cooler name). To the right is our daily schedule, with everyone in our family and what they are doing throughout the day. Under the schedule is our menu for the week To the left I have our pegboard system, where I have all of Britney's therapy activities listed, as well as my area to keep track of everyone's behavior and attitude throughout the day. On the bottom of the pegboard are thier pictures with their chorepacks hanging from there. On the top of the peg board system is where we store our chorepacks that aren't currently being used. I will put that sheet in my family binder once I have finished setting tha
t up.

One Goal Accomplished
Okay. I was able to reorganize all of my kitchen cabinets and also my pantry closet. My pantry closet is pretty small, but with all of the tupperware containers, I am able to make the best out of the small space. I didn't take pictures of all the cabinets and drawers, but you get the idea. ;0) The bottom cabinet has the plastic dishes that the children help with when unloading the dishwasher, setting the
table, etc. I also cleaned out the cabinets with food. It worked out great, because as I put all of the food (that we probably wouldn't eat)out on the counter, dh told me that his job has some Guatamalen food drive. I so happy th
at nothing went to waste. I have to be careful with some of the things I buy, and make sure we will eat it.

I've Been A Stranger
Sorry I haven't been around. Thanks to my very good friend Mona, I was revamping my blog. So all my extra time has gone into working on my template. I will catch up on a few posts later on today. I have to go work on some of those goals to my left. ;0)

Rejoice ALWAYS??
The last few days I have been meditating on a couple of verses, one of them being how we need to be happy in ALL things. Yesterday my 1 year old, thinking he was a big boy, kept taking his diaper off, telling me he was going to use the potty. I kept putting it back on him, thinking he just wasn't really ready to use the potty. So I put a newly washed tablecloth on the table to get the house nice and clean before hubby got home. While I was straightening it out, ds1 climbed up on the chair. He started to help me, and then he told me he peed. Sure enough, I look, and he had peed all over the chair and onto our new floor. URGH!! So I quickly grabbed an old towel to dry the floor up, and as I was bent down drying up the floor, I thought "where in this situation is there anything to rejoice about?" And the Lord immediately put the thought in my mind, "Be happy he wasn't pointed in the direction of the newly washed tablecloth." And that is SO true. In every situation there really is something to rejoice about. We might not immediately see it, which is okay. We need to just trust in the Lord. Phil. 4:4 says, "Rejoice in the Lord ALWAYS, and again I say rejoice." It doesn't say rejoice in the Lord sometimes, it says ALWAYS. I need to continually keep that in mind, and make sure I am tuned in to hear Hi
s promptings.
s promptings.

It's Sinking In!!
My two boys share a bedroom. I heard ds1 crying this morning around 5:45. I knew it was too early for him to wake up, so I went in and laid down with him for a few minutes. I had been laying down for about 2 minutes when I heard ds3 (fully asleep) say, "when you cry you get nothing." lol For the last couple of weeks I have been trying to cut back on ds3's juice intake, because of his eczema. So he sometimes will ask me for juice, and if I say no, he starts to cry. So I have been telling him, "when you cry, you get nothing." I have been trying to teach him that he is not going to get what he wants just because he crys. It will be an automatic no if he starts crying. So I guess it is sinking in and he was just sharing his wisdom with his little brother. lol YAY!!

Peru houses/DH at work

These pictures are from Dh's and dd's missionary trip. You can see how squished the houses are on this mountain. He said they had nothing on the windows. It was just a cut out square. Here you can see him preaching, counseling, and also taking part of a wedding. My hubby is the one on the right side of the top two pictures. ;0)
Peru/Kayla at beach
This is Kayla at the beach in Peru during their off time. I love the fact that she had no idea hubby was taking these.

Finished crocheted bag
Here are some pics of the finished crocheted bag I did for Kayla before they left on the missionary trip to Peru. It's a little dirty and out of shape, being that it was dragged all over Peru for two weeks ;0)
Surprise/Floor
Sorry I hadn't posted in a while. I couldn't write about anything I was doing for the last couple of weeks, in fear that dh would check my blog while he was in Peru, and see what I was up to. ;0) I was able to surprise him by painting the interior of our house. Well, I really just primed the walls, until we find out what type of furniture we are getting. BUT he liked the look of just white walls and wood floor. I also surprised him by redoing our floor from ceramic tile to wood laminate, which he absolutely loved. He has mentioned it every day since he got home. And
the last one was that I was able to relandscape the front. WOOHOO!!! Here are some pictures
