Sew Crafty Friday

I know some of these pictures are really bad because of the lighting, but if you click to enlarge, you might be able to see it better. This wall was my canvas. I hope it counts as crafty. lol ;0) I found these little display boxes that I wanted to put up on the wall. I wasn't sure whether to put them up uniformly or just random. I cut out little pieces of paper the size of the squares and tested them out. Here they are in a uniform fashion. (By the way, excuse the scarves on the curtains, I was testing out which way they look better, and each window has it a different way, lol)

Here they are randomly placed.

This one is a little closer.

What I like is that I can change the objects on top of the boxes when we get tired of one look. We can do small frames, etc. I found these little milk jug looking glasses. I filled them up with some stones, and put one of my favorite plants that grow beautifully in water.

Here is a different one. I had a large plant outside. I just took my scissors and cut little sections of the plant.. This plant will just start to grow new roots.

p.s. Britney goes for a evaluation this week, so hopefully I should know by Wednesday whether I can dive back into blogging or not. We're praying for a quick easy set of activities. ;0)

Sew Crafty Friday

This week I worked on some cloth wipes for my sister-in-law(my beloved's brother's wife). She is going down the cloth diaper path, so I figured these would go hand in hand with the diapers. She is due in a little less than 2 weeks. YAY!! She is having a little girl.

The children helped me pick some of the fabrics, which explains the frog ones you see here and there. lol ;0)

I still have to trim all the little tails.

I'm wondering if they might be a little too big? Do you have any suggestions as far as the best size for a tiny little bottom?

The majority of them have a backing of organic hemp(30). Some of them will be backed with flannel(5), and others with terry cloth(5). This one is backed with the hemp.

Ten down....(the froggy one is missing here)

Sew Crafty Friday Entries

I always mention on my Sew Crafty posts that if you don't have a blog, or for whatever reason you can't post your pictures on your blog, to email them to me and I will post them for you here. I'm so happy that you all take me up on that offer. Here you go, two more entries.

The following two pictures are from Sabine, this is what she wrote about her entry. "I don’t keep a blog at this time so I thought I’d send you 2 pictures of a doll’s outfit I made recently. I make up my own patterns. This outfit is inspired by an old knitting pattern for a baby’s pram set."

The next two pictures are from Amy. Amy's blog is private, so she asked me to please share. Here is what she wrote, "They are paper dragonflies I made out of ‘paper selvages’ (the strips of paper that are sometimes on the bottom of 12x12 scrapbooking papers telling you the brand and color) and some extra strips of paper. I wanted to make a mobile out of them but they don’t hang right…they are all top-heavy or something."

Sew Crafty Friday

Okay, I didn't much this week, but here it is. Every day the Lord seems to share something new with me. I didn't want to forget, so I wanted to start writing it down. I will share the inside later. I have looseleaf pages inside, and I use one sheet a day. I write down the verse that was impressed on me. I write down the things I am grateful for, and how long I have gone with overcoming a certain obstacle(sweets) So this is the outside. I copied some verses and pictures.

Inside the front cover I put one of the little lapbook folds. It closes up pretty good.

I put my stickers inside. I seem to be putting stickers everywhere now. ;0)

p.s Britney goes for her evaluation in less than three weeks. So my blogging hiatus might be coming to an end. ;0) We're hoping for a shorter set of therapy activities for her. ;0)

Sew Crafty Friday

Hi ladies,
I'm sorry, but I don't have anything new to share. I have half of the children sick with fever and vomiting. My beloved was also traveling this week, so I had too much on my plate to even think about doing something crafty. ;0(
I made this little purse a couple of years ago for Britney. I remember sharing a little round one that I made for Kayla out of this same yarn. This is the one that Britney got. If anyone wants the website for it, let me know. It's from the same exact website that I shared for the round purse.
