I'm taking pictures now. Today is our 15th wedding anniversary, and I lost track of time this morning. ;0)

A Treat

The week I mentioned that I was going to try posting regularly again, I was diagnosed with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. ;0( It is very painful. At times it feels as if someone is sticking a metal rod up the veins of my hand up to my shoulder. URGH!! I'm trying some natural patches to see if that works, as I will not be going the conventional route of cortisone shots or surgery. I'm sure my years of court stenography didn't help.

Anyway, I have mentioned before that I struggle with cravings of sweets. A friend(who is doctor) told me that it might be a lack of calcium, due to breastfeeding 7 1/2 years, and being pregnant 3 years, for a total of 10 1/2 years out of the last 12 years. Hmmmm..... that might be a possibility, huh? Anyway, I have been trying to get more calcium in through sesame seeds, almonds, etc. I found a decent treat when those cravings come on, and I figured I would share.

It calls for a few types of nuts; pecans, almonds and walnuts.

I mixed it up with some unsweetened coconut, carob powder, honey, etc.

Then I got my little helpers to mix it up for me.

I know this must be breaking food codes of some sort. Yes, he is sitting up on the kitchen ledge. Well...how else would he get a good look at what I was doing. lol ;0)

I pat it down in a casserole-type dish. I put sesame seeds on half of it.

I put them in the freezer for 15 or 20 minutes. I then cut them into little squares. A little square is more than enough when those cravings come on. ;0)

I really didn't stage this picture. Elijah was next to me as I snapped the picture. When I went to see how the picture came out, this is what I saw. The temptation was too much.

Okay, this is better.

I got two more of these dish towels done. They are supposed to look like little dresses. I still have to do the loop on one of the "dresses" so it can be hung from the stove or knob of a cabinet, etc.


I'm not sure how large I will be making this granny square. It's not much, but that's all I got done.

It Figures....

Just when I say I'm going to try and start blogging again, my phone and internet services go down. Hurricane season has started down here, and it's been raining a lot. I was on the phone with my sister today, (Hi, Delilah, love you!!)lightening hit, and I think my phone got fried. My internet is down as well. My neighbor's phones are working fine. I'm thinking it was because I was on the phone. Thankfully I had the computer off at the time. My beloved got home a little while ago, so I am on his laptop with the wireless. The repairmen are coming tomorrow, but I'm not sure at what time they will be coming. I will set up Sew Crafty Friday for tomorrow from this laptop, but I don't have pictures because I don't have the software for our camera on my beloved's laptop. ;0( If they get here early, I will be able to add my pictures. If not, maybe I can just find an interesting craft or something to share online.
I'm looking forward to sharing a few things next week.

Hmmm....

I haven't blogged in so long that I don't even remember how to title my posts. ;0) The Lord really does give us the desires of our heart. The boys have been wanting a reptile for a while. My beloved and I have been dragging our feet about it. We thought 3 dogs and cat would suffice. However, a little neighbor boy down the street was giving away his leopard gecko. His mom is pregnant, and they wanted to downsize on their reptiles. So we became the new owners of this little guy....or so we thought. After reading up on it, I checked, and it looks like it's a she.

They even got to see how she sheds. She kept rubbing her body all along her heat rock.

We find her kind of skinny compared to other leopard geckos, so we're not sure if they took very good care of her. ;0( The boys have been praying for her every day.

p.s. I'm going to give the blog another go. Well, at least I'm going to try....;0)

Sew Crafty Friday

*Sorry, I wrote it yesterday, and scheduled it to be posted this morning at 7:00, but for some reason it didn't post. Sorry.

I got back from Britney's reevaluation yesterday. I started gathering all of the new items she will need for this set of activities. I ordered all the books online. One of the new things she has to do is to occlude her left eye for two hours a day. (she is right-handed, left-eyed, right-eared. So we are trying to make sure she will dominate the right eye, so that she won't be mixed dominate any more, but a full righty all the way through. ;0) I didn't want to buy a eye patch, so I figured I could make one. I made a very primitive one just to get us through the next couple of weeks. Once everything settles down, I will make her a nice durable one.

She picked some flannel butterfly fabric. I picked black fabric for the inside, to make sure she couldn't see through it.

Like I said, it's very primitive. lol ;0) Here is the front.

She seemed to do well with it yesterday.

She told me she can see a little from the bottom, so I'm wondering whether to make the next one sort of concave.

Her list of activities seem to be the same, time wise, as far as the last set, but I haven't completed all of them yet, so we'll see.
